The University of Murcia is a big-sized University with approximately 36.000 students and 3.500 staff members. For the Faculty of Informatics, the ANTS research group will participate in this project. The ANTS group is a subdivision of the Intelligent Systems Group, from the Department of Communications and Information Engineering with experience in security in network infrastructure. Indeed, UMU has been collaborating in different national and international research projects.
UMU has also participated in IoT projects like SMARTIE, SOCIOTAL and ENTROPY and currectly coordinate IoTCrawler where data analytics are being applied in the context of smart building and Intelligent searching solutions for IoT.
UMU has a couple of patents in the area of building automation and remote monitoring systems.
UMU coordinate PHOENIX Project. UMU team shows outstanding experience designing new data mining (DM) techniques within the framework of smart buildings (SBs) and smart cities (SC) to support uncertainty/imprecision in real time; and in the study of Context Aware (CA) solutions in many different domains. For example, we make use of predictive algorithms based on RF and BRANN to estimate the energy-related characteristics of a building.
